About
ClarifyNow was set up in 2010 by Daphne Perry, a former commercial barrister, trainer, writer and editor. With over 30 years experience of plain English legal drafting and editing, she is co-author of the Law Society’s textbook Clarity for Lawyers and has been the UK representative and international secretary of Clarity, the association for plain language in the law.
Daphne works closely with other writers, designers and trainers, including Legalwrite consultants, writers and trainers in Brussels and London.
Before setting up ClarifyNow, Daphne worked for 12 years for Dentons, a large law firm based in London and overseas. She supported litigators with writing, training and knowhow and was plain language co-ordinator for the firm.
Before that, Daphne practised for 12 years (as Daphne Loebl) as a barrister at Fountain Court Chambers in London. In 1997, Chambers & Partners Guide to the Legal Profession recommended her in the top 11 junior barristers for commercial work in London.
